The ongoing mission of RACE for the Orphans is Raising Awareness Compassion and Education about the needs of orphans around the world. The primary way we do this is by hosting an annual 5K run to raise money for area families that are adopting children domestically in North America and/or internationally from around the world.
Each year the RACE has grown exponentially with the support from corporate sponsors, volunteers, and participants. Because of this momentum, the amount given each year to RACE Grant Recipients has also grown.
2nd Annual RACE in 2014: Total of $9,500 granted to 2 adopting families.
3rd Annual RACE in 2015: Total of $19,500 granted to 2 adopting families.
4th Annual RACE in 2016: Total of $30,000 granted to 4 adopting families.
5th Annual RACE in 2017: Total of $33,000 granted to 3 adopting families.
6th Annual RACE in 2018: Total of $43,000 granted to 4 adopting families.
7th Annual RACE in 2019: Total of $65,000 granted to 9 adopting families.
8th Annual RACE in 2020: Due to a worldwide pandemic, we were not able to host an event this year, but God still worked in BIG ways and thanks to generous Corporate Sponsors, Donors, and Partners, a total of $41,000 was granted to 7 adopting families.
9th Annual RACE in 2021: Total of $62,000 granted to 9 adopting families.
10th Annual RACE in 2022: Total of $85,000 granted to 4 adopting families.
We hope to raise even more funds at the 11th Annual RACE that will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 in historic downtown Newnan, Georgia.

The journey of adoption is much like a marathon with lots of up-and-down hills, and we know this first hand. In the summer of 2012, God led us to begin the process of growing our family through the miracle of adoption. After completing lots of paperwork, fingerprinting, online courses, and home study visits, we traveled to China in November 2013 to meet our daughter, He Tong. After spending two weeks in China, Jenna Jean Preston came home to her forever family in Newnan, Georgia. However, the dream of adopting from China and bringing Jenna home would not have become a reality without the financial support from our family, friends, and community at the inaugural RACE for the Orphans in 2013 that benefited our adoption. We were so overwhelmed by the outpouring of support that we decided to make the RACE an annual event to help raise money for other adopting families. We are thankful you are on this indescribable journey, as hard as it can be, and are excited to partner with you in your adoption!
Blessings,
The Prestons
